Huawei over these past few years have been paying so much attention to the camera department of their smartphones, making their key smartphone features its cameras and the AI built in.

Other colors of the P20 and P20 Pro include the classic black, midnight blue, and champagne gold for the P20 only. Like I said earlier, the Huawei P20 takes some design ques from the iPhone x. The Huawei P20 features a notch on top of the display which isn’t as pronounced as the one on the iPhone x. The notch on the Huawei P20 can be removed or placed using software on its user interface.
The notch on the Huawei P20 houses it’s call speaker and its front facing camera. The display on the P20 and P20 pro features a display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. Below this display is a home button that houses the fingerprint sensor. The Huawei P20 and P20 pro also features on screen Nav Bar which can be removed from software, hence facilitate a full display. Switching the P20 to the back, we are greeted with a very familiar look from on the iPhone x. This is true on the P20 for the most part, but for the P20 pro, it isn’t all true. The Huawei P20 features dual rear cameras and a flash, while the P20 pro features 3 rear cameras and a flash. More on the camera later.
Moving on to the hardware side, the P20 and P20 pro reveal their beastly specs.
The Huawei P20 features a kirin 970 processor, 4GB of ram and a 3,400 man battery. The P20 features the same processor, the difference here comes from the fact that the P20 pro features 6GB of ram and beefier 4000mah battery. Moving on to the camera department which is the most hyped part of huawei P20.

This AI package includes; The huawei P20 can detect many more scene types and change settings on the fly. For instance, the camera app is able to change pretty easily between portrait mode and food mode, as long as it can detect a face in the frame. It takes a split second for the mode to switch up, but the feature seems sound. Among others, it can recognize dogs, cats, greenery, and even group shots, where the camera app will suggest to the user to shift in order to fit everyone properly into the frame. For anyone looking to get the best out of the cameras of the P20 and P20 Pro, this AI assistance can help take some of the load off figuring out the best settings. So if you are really into smartphone photography like me, Huawei has you covered.
The P20 and P20 Pro feature four different systems of autofocus – laser, phase detection, depth, and contrast combined into a system called 4D Predictive Focus. That means the camera should be able to constantly track subjects and refocus seamlessly as needed. 960fps video capture brings super slow motion and Huawei’s Ultra Snapshot feature returns, allowing you to wake up the device and snap a photo in just 0.3 seconds.
The Huawei P20 and P20 pro is certainly the best that has emerged from the smartphone department of Huawei. I personally is very pleased with its existence.
