Taking off with the obvious, the Nokia 7.1 in hand appearance and feel is very different from it’s predecessors.
The Nokia 7.1 has a more Premium look.
The Nokia 7.1 is covered in glass, both in front and back.
Up front you have 2.5D curved gorilla glass 3 glass and on the back you have hardened glass that appears glossy.
The front and back glass of the Nokia 7.1 is attached to an aluminum frame with round edges.
On the back you have dual cameras, Finger print sensor, Nokia branding and Android one branding at the bottom.
On the bottom, the Nokia 7.1 feature a USB type-c port, speaker and mouth piece while on top you have a 3.5MM headphone jack.
Flipping the phone again to the front, you have a very familiar design, coming g from the Nokia 6.1. The Nokia 7.1 features a 5.84 inch full HD display with a screen resolution of 2280 X 1080.
This display has an 19:9 aspect ratio and as said earlier, the display is covered in 2.5D gorilla glass 3.
The Nokia 7.1 is capable of outputting HDR10 content and HMD claims the Nokia 7.1 will be able to upscale Standard definition content to HDR10.
The Nokia 7.1 has a notch in it’s display. This notch houses it’s earpiece and front facing camera. There is a noticeable bottom chin.
Moving to the technical side of. The Nokia 7 is powered by a Snapdragon 636 processor, 4GB RAM, 64 GB of internal storage and a 3060 MAH battery.
The camera department of Nokia smarphones have shown great strength since Nokia camera smartphones came into existence.
Even though the Nokia 7.1 is $330 mid range budget device, HMD isn’t trowing good camera specs to the wind. The Nokia 7.1 has pretty good camera hardware.
The Nokia 7.1 has dual rear cameras, with the Secondary camera being a 12MP sensor, with an aperture of F/1.8 and the primary camera being a 5MP sensor with an aperture of F/2.4
This Dual camera system facilities portrait mode pictures, also HMD is bringing live Bokeh to Nokia phones with the Nokia 7.1.
With Live Bokeh, you will be able to adjust the amount of blur on image you took on portrait mode. More or less blur, depending on your preference.
Moving up front, the Nokia 7.1 features an 8MP selfie camera with an aperture of F/2.0 and dual flash.
The Bothie effect introduced on the Nokia 8, also makes it’s way to the Nokia 7.1.
With Bothie effect, you can make videos, take photos using the selfie camera and rear cameras at the same time
With a price tag of $330 HMD is calling the Nokia 7.1 the budget king. You won’t have to pay $40 per month for 2 years, like will do for the Note 9 to get the Nokia 7.1.
