In a bid to curb this menace, WhatsApp included an option that prevents admins from adding you to groups, and you can choose from a variety of options, from blocking one contact, to plainly blocking everybody.
To make the whole process very easy for WhatsApp users on different platforms, I will provide the procedures on how to use this system on Android and iPhones. The procedures are outlined below:
for android users,
- Go to settings.
- Goto Accounts
- Goto Privacy
- scroll down and click on Groups.
You will be given three (3) options to choose from.
This is the default option that allows anybody to add you to groups.
2. My contacts
This option allows only people in your contact list (friends/family) to add you to groups.
3. My contacts except…
This allows you to block specific contacts from adding you to groups. Additionally, you can mark all your contacts, and nobody will be able to add you to any group. Yes! nobody can add you to any group without your consent. Isn’t that great?
